Chargers Trade Up Late In First Round To Get Kenneth Murray
5 years agoThe Los Angeles Chargers traded with the New England Patriots and selected Oklahoma linebacker Kenneth Murray with the No. 23 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft on Thursday. It's the Chargers second first-rounder, as they took Oregon QB Justin Herbert sixth overall. The Bolts are getting a three-down linebacker who can cause chaos from sideline to sideline. He plays downhill with tremendous physicality and energy, and he's a player that most teams were infatuated with on and off the field in the pre-draft process. The middle of the defense was the Chargers weakness, so Murray should fit in right away to improve that weakness. LA's defense/special teams should be highly coveted by fantasy owners with Murray now in the fold. The Patriots received a second- and third-round pick from the Chargers with this swap.
