Chandler Simpson With A Two-Run Triple, Stolen Base On Wednesday
18 seconds agoTampa Bay Rays outfield prospect Chandler Simpson continues to impress, going 2-for-5 with two RBI, a run scored, and a stolen base on Wednesday for Triple-A Durham. One of his hits was a triple where he flashed his elite speed, and the stolen base was his third of the season already after swiping 198 bags over the last two seasons combined. The 24-year-old is now 6-for-22 (.273) to begin the 2025 campaign with three RBI, four runs scored, and a 2:2 BB:K. Tampa's seventh-ranked prospect has been impressing with the speed and glove in the outfield as well, as he continues to make his push for a promotion to the major league club. With outfielder Josh Lowe (oblique) hitting the IL already, a few more strong weeks from Simpson could force the Rays to give the speedster a shot. He can also play shortstop if needed, which could help pave the way for playing time. Fantasy managers will want to stay vigilant on this name, as he could be an instant stolen base contributor for fantasy upon his arrival, and would bring his excellent contact skills with him as well.
