Chandler Simpson Flashing Speed Upside At Triple-A
4 hours agoTampa Bay Rays shortstop prospect Chandler Simpson has posted a .297/.325/.351 line across his first eight career games at Triple-A. During this productive start, Simpson has done most of his damage on the basepaths, swiping five bags. In the batter's box, he has held a 2:3 BB:K and hit one triple. Last season, Simpson split time between High-A and Double-A and posted a cumulative .355/.410/.397 slash line with 104 stolen bases. At High-A, Simpson swiped 31 bags in 32 contests with a .364 AVG. Then, with Double-A Montgomery, the Georgia Tech product stole 73 bases in just 78 games. He posted a strong .351/.401/.407 slash line with 13 doubles. While Simpson does not carry high power upside, he possesses elite speed. He is a name to closely monitor as he should be in the mix to make his MLB debut later this season.
