Chad Pinder Is Week-To-Week With Knee Sprain
Chad Pinder (knee) is being considered week-to-week with a left knee sprain, according to Martin Gallegos of MLB.com. Pinder had been placed on the 10-day injured list earlier in the week after exiting Sunday's game in the first inning, and now Gallegos reports that Pinder is currently being held out of all baseball activities. It's sounding like this could be a longer-term injury for Pinder, who had gone 3-for-10 with a home run in his first four games, and had slashed .356/.453/.667 with three home runs in 19 games during Spring Training.

Reds Agree To Minor-League Deal With Chad Pinder
Chad Pinder. The deal would include an invitation to big-league camp as a non-roster player. The 30-year-old spent most of his time in the outfield in 2022 with the A's, but he also saw time at first and third base. The Reds currently have an opening at third base, so Pinder would likely be competing for playing time at that position. Offensively, Pinder slashed .235/.263/.385 with 12 home runs and 42 RBI in 379 plate appearances. It sounds as though the Reds may still be looking to bring in additional players, and Pinder's recent offensive production has not been so great that he would be fantasy relevant even if he were to see somewhat regular playing time.

Chad Pinder Out With Neck Stiffness
Chad Pinder (neck) is out of the starting lineup on Thursday against the Cleveland Guardians due to neck stiffness. However, manager Mark Kotsay said Pinder will be available off the bench, so his injury doesn't sound overly serious. Pinder had been in the starting lineup in each of the team's last six games, but he'll start on the bench Thursday. In his absence, Tony Kemp is getting the start in left field and is batting leadoff against Guardians left-hander Konnor Pilkington. Kemp will see extra at-bats in the leadoff spot, but he's gone just 3-for-16 (.188) with no home runs and an RBI in five games over the last week, and he has just one homer and nine RBI on the year in 53 games.

Chad Pinder Batting Leadoff On Wednesday
Chad Pinder is slotting in as the team's leadoff hitter for Wednesday's game against the Tampa Bay Rays. This will be his first leadoff opportunity of the year. The Rays will have left-hander Shane McClanahan on the mound. The right-handed Pinder has slashed .264/.332/.457 against lefties across his career. He's also off to a nice start to the 2022 season. Over five games, he's slashed .263/.263/.684 with two home runs and two doubles. He's a worthy DFS play for Wednesday's slate. He should get several at-bats, especially if the Athletics offense remains hot. The team has scored 21 runs over the last two games.
