Chad Kuhl Making Spot Start Against Braves
5 months agoChicago White Sox right-hander Chad Kuhl has been tasked with a spot start on Thursday versus the visiting Atlanta Braves. Kuhl was called up by the White Sox on June 14, but all three of his appearances came out of the bullpen. In his last appearance on Sunday against the Detroit Tigers, the 31-year-old threw 4 1/3 innings of long relief, giving up two earned runs on six hits (one homer) while walking one and striking out seven. Kuhl has allowed six earned runs on eight hits while walking five and fanning 11 in his three relief appearances for the Sox this year. At Triple-A Charlotte, Kuhl went 1-3 with a 4.34 ERA and 1.50 WHIP with 42 strikeouts and 33 walks in 56 innings over 13 outings (11 starts). He holds a career 5.00 ERA and 1.48 WHIP with a mediocre 20% strikeout rate in eight big-league seasons and makes for a desperation fantasy streamer on Thursday.
