Chad Green’s Off Night Sets Up Yankees Defeat
7 years agoAfter starting pitcher Masahiro Tanaka served up a two-run home run to wipe out the New York Yankees slim lead, manager Aaron Boone called on reliever Chad Green from the bullpen. The 26-year-old, who has turned out to be a massive weapon, was knocked around Thursday as the Yankees were defeated. Green inherited one baserunner but surrendered three more hits, allowing three more runs to score. It was a rare off night for the strikeout machine, his first outing with runs conceded this season. Regardless, he piled on two more strikeouts, now having nine through four innings of work.
