Chad Green Notches Third Save
3 years agoNew York Yankees relief pitcher Chad Green picked up his third save of the season in Wednesday's victory over the Seattle Mariners. Green worked his first save opportunity since May 27 and didn't disappoint, fanning two batters in the ninth to lock up the win. The veteran reliever has excelled in a jack-of-all-trades role this season, picking up a trio of wins and saves along with 11 holds, impressively compiling a 2.23 ERA and 48:8 strikeout-to-walk ratio in the process. With Aroldis Chapman struggling, Green would seem to be the favorite for saves out of the New York bullpen moving forward, though Jonathan Loaisiga could also be a factor. Green should be added in most formats, especially those that track both holds and saves.
