3 months agoToronto Blue Jays reliever Chad Green picked up his 12th save of the season in Monday's 4-2 win against the Los Angeles Angels. The 33-year-old allowed one run with no strikeouts over an inning in Monday's victory. He surrendered a solo blast to Jo Adell in the bottom of the ninth inning but bounced back to retire the next three batters he faced to pick up the save. Green has been a consistent closing option for the Jays to replace the injured Jordan Romano (elbow). He is (3-2) with a 1.86 ERA and a 0.85 WHIP across 38 2/3 innings. With how well he is pitching and how depleted Toronto's bullpen is, the closing job has been Green's to run with.
