Chad Green Nabs Fourth Save
5 months agoToronto Blue Jays closer Chad Green picked up his fourth save of the season in Saturday's 5-4 win over the Mariners. Green came on to get one out in the eighth, then recorded the final three outs in the ninth. It didn't come without some drama though as the 33-year-old coughed up a home run that allowed Seattle to get within a run of tying the game. All in all the righty threw 27 pitches (20 strikes) and it was the first time he'd given up a run since early June, a span of 9 appearances. Green is serving as closer after a plethora of injuries in the Toronto bullpen and may relinquish duties to Yimi Garcia when he returns. On the season, Green has a 1.64 ERA, 0.91 WHIP, 5:19 BB:K, six holds, and four saves in 22 IP.
