Cesar Hernandez Records Half Of Philadelphia’s Hits
6 years agoComing off a victory against the Diamondbacks Tuesday night, the Philadelphia Phillies went silent at the plate on Wednesday in the afternoon series finale in Arizona. The best hitter for the club on the day was, like on many previous occasions, starting second baseman Cesar Hernandez. The leadoff man picked up two hits, drew a walk and would eventually be caught stealing. Hernandez has been uncharacteristically poor at the plate this season, hitting just .262 across his past 30 games. At this pace, he would finish with his lowest batting average in four seasons.
