CC Sabathia Undergoes Heart Procedure
6 years agoNew York Yankees starting pitcher CC Sabathia (heart) required a heart procedure in which doctors inserted a stent to open up an artery in his heart this offseason. The procedure is known as angioplasty. After meeting with doctors on Friday, his prognosis for the short and long term is good, so Sabathia is expected to report to spring training on time in mid-February. The left-hander has already resumed limited activity, including weight lifting. 2019 will be Sabathia's final season. He went 9-7 with a decent 3.65 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 140 strikeouts in 153 innings (29 starts). The 38-year-old obviously isn't dominant like he once was, but he'll have a great offense backing him and will at least be a streaming option in deep mixed and AL-only leagues.
