CC Sabathia Struggles As Yankees Drop Series Finale
7 years agoSeeking a sweep of the Boston Red Sox on Thursday, the New York Yankees sent out veteran left-hander CC Sabathia. The 37-year-old had his shortest outing in nearly a month, surrendering four runs on nine hits in four innings of work. With 82 pitches and five strikeouts under his belt, a prolonged rain delay made Aaron Boone’s decision easy to remove the former All-Star. Sabathia’s ERA rose nearly a full run, now at 2.23, while his record remains 2-0. His next start is scheduled for Wednesday night in Washington against the Nationals.
