CC Sabathia Feels Fine After First Spring Outing
6 years agoNew York Yankees starting pitcher CC Sabathia (heart, knee) gave up one run and two hits in two innings on Thursday in a minor league exhibition game in his first game action since undergoing a heart procedure in December. Sabathia struck out three against the Tigers Triple-A affiliate, Toledo. The veteran left-hander said he "felt great" after the 26-pitch outing. He'll make another minor league outing on Tuesday against the Phillies and is expected to miss his first two or three starts of the regular season. The 38-year-old will retire after the 2019 season and is more of a matchup play in deep mixed and AL-only leagues at this stage of his career. He'll also serve a five-game suspension to begin the year for hitting Rays catcher Jesus Sucre in his final start.
