Caves Valley Is Not the Best Fit for Jordan Spieth
3 years agoWhile Jordan Spieth certainly has the game to compete anywhere, Caves Valley is not an ideal fit for his skillset. Compared to other players in his price range, Spieth is by far the worst mid to long iron player, ranking 64th out of 70 players in this field in proximity from 200 yards plus. The three-time major winner also possesses the shakiest off the tee game of all the elite options, ranking below average in strokes gained off the tee, driving distance, and fairways gained. While his stats are certainly juked from a final round 79 at the Northern Trust, Spieth will need to rely much more heavily on his short game and putting than other players in his price range to compete here.
