2 years agoSan Francisco Giants infielder Casey Schmitt raked on Thursday, going 4-for-4 with a homer in a 6-2 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks. Schmitt added two runs scored and three RBI to his line. He has been on fire since being called up on Tuesday, going 8-for-12 with two homers, four RBI, and five runs scored. Schmitt is currently playing shortstop with Brandon Crawford out, but he could move into more of a super-utility role when Crawford returns. The Giants obviously want their No. 4 prospect to play, and if he continues to hit they'll have no problem keeping him in the big leagues.
