Casey Mize Tosses Five Shutout Innings On Tuesday
3 years agoDetroit Tigers starting pitcher Casey Mize had a strong outing against the St. Louis Cardinals on Tuesday. He pitched five innings and allowed three hits, two walks and no runs while striking out two. He earned the win to improve to 7-6 on the year. The Tigers have been limiting Mize to around 80 pitches lately. He threw 76 in Tuesday's outing. He's only pitched past the fifth inning once over his last nine starts. Tack on the fact that the team is going with a six-man rotation and it makes Mize even less enticing for fantasy purposes. He has a solid 3.55 ERA and 1.16 WHIP on the year and he'll make his next start next Tuesday against the Oakland Athletics.
