Casey Hayward Released By Falcons
2 years agoAtlanta Falcons defensive back Casey Hayward has been released by the organization on Friday. He originally signed a two-year, $11 million deal with the Falcons last offseason. He played the first six games of the season before suffering a season-ending shoulder injury. Since then, the Falcons have upgraded at defensive back with Mike Hughes and Jeff Okudah. That being said, they didn't have much of a reason to hang onto Heyward for the final year of his contract. This move saves the team $5 million against the cap, but results in $2 million in dead cap. The two-time Pro Bowl corner should be able to find another team before the season begins.
