Casey DeSmith Sharp In Monday's Victory
1 day agoDallas Stars goaltender Casey DeSmith stopped 35 of the 36 shots he saw en route to defeating the Seattle Kraken. The Kraken held the advantage in the shot total, but DeSmith was able to lead the way to the victory. His lone mistake came in the opening frame when Kaapo Kakko scored his 14th goal of the season on a wrist shot. Over his last five contests, DeSmith has posted a 4-0-1 record with a stellar 1.77 GAA and a .948 save percentage. Even though Jake Oettinger sees the vast majority of starts in the Dallas crease, DeSmith is quite effective as the No. 2 option. Through 23 contests this season, DeSmith held a 14-6-1 record and posted a 2.30 GAA and a .922 save percentage. He is worth deploying in deeper formats in his next start.
