Casey DeSmith Earns A Start On Thursday
3 years agoPittsburgh Penguins goaltender Casey DeSmith will be in the net as the Flames come to visit on Thursday. The 30-year-old will make only his second appearance of the season. He suffered a 5-4 overtime loss against Florida in his season debut on Oct. 14. DeSmith had a decent showing with 34 saves but couldn't hold on to a 4-2 lead in the third period. He went a solid 11-7-0 last season with two shutouts, allowing 2.54 goals per game with a .912 save percentage. The Penguins have won four of the last five battles with Calgary.
