Carter Kieboom Sitting With Sore Thumb
3 years agoWashington Nationals third baseman Carter Kieboom (thumb) is not in the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against the Miami Marlins. Jordy Mercer is getting the start at third base and batting seventh in the game. Kieboom jammed his thumb during a slide in Monday's game and is still recovering from the incident. According to Nationals manager Davey Martinez, Kieboom is available off the bench if needed on Tuesday. The 24-year-old has struggled at the plate this month, slashing .174/.260/.188 with just one extra-base hit (a double) over 69 at-bats.
