Carson Wentz Receives Four-Week Timeline Post-Surgery
2 years agoWashington Commanders quarterback Carson Wentz (finger) suffered the injury during their game against the Bears on Thursday. The initial estimate was four to six weeks, however, following his surgery, there is optimism it could be on the shorter side of that timeline. The newest report is that the doctor who performed the surgery told the 29-year-old to expect a four-week recovery. It remains to be seen whether the team will elect to place him on the injured reserve list, but the Commanders will need to turn to either Taylor Heinicke or Sam Howell in his absence. Either player would be a slight downgrade for the offense, although the rookie does possess unknown upside. Both are potential adds in a superflex league, but not in a single-quarterback format.
