Carson Seymour Named Pacific Coast Pitcher Of The Week
1 week agoSan Francisco Giants pitching prospect Carson Seymour was named Pacific Coast Pitcher of the Week. Seymour was sharp in his start on April 3. He tossed five shutout frames and allowed just two hits and one free pass. He struck out five batters. Seymour also enjoyed a strong outing in the season opener on March 28 when he logged four innings of three-hit ball. In that start, he tallied eight punchouts and allowed just one walk with no runs. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his progress at Triple-A, as he should be in the mix for his MLB debut later this summer. Last season, Seymour held a modest 4.82 ERA with a 1.57 WHIP across 134 1/3 innings of work with Triple-A Sacramento. If the 26-year-old continues to perform well, he could contend for an early MLB debut.
