Carson Palmquist Rebounds In Second Start
1 day agoColorado Rockies pitching prospect Carson Palmquist enjoyed a strong bounce-back outing on Thursday evening. After stumbling in his season debut as he allowed three hits and four earned runs across four 1/3 innings of work, Palmquist was able to get in the win column on Thursday. In this outing, Palmquist shut down Triple-A Sugar Land as he logged five innings of one-run ball with a 1:7 BB:K. He allowed just three hits. Last summer, the 24-year-old southpaw spent most of his time with Double-A before earning a late-season taste of Triple-A. With Double-A, Palmquist logged 87 1/3 innings of work and held a strong 3.17 ERA with a 1.12 WHIP. He tallied 113 punchouts in this stint. If Palmquist continues to improve at Triple-A, he should be in the mix for an MLB debut in the second half.
