Carson Kelly Activated, Starting Monday Versus Phillies
1 year agoArizona Diamondbacks catcher Carson Kelly (forearm) has been activated from the 60-day injured list to make his season debut Monday against Philadelphia Phillies left-hander Matt Strahm. Kelly suffered a right forearm fracture in spring training but will look to get started on the right foot after a down 2022 season. The 28-year-old hit just .211 with seven homers, two stolen bases, and a .616 OPS across 354 trips to the plate a season ago. A highly-regarded defender, Kelly will help youngster Gabriel Moreno along behind the plate after the 23-year-old handled a heavy workload to this point in the season. He will hit seventh and catch Tommy Henry Monday night in Arizona.
