Carson Hocevar’s Lack of Brickyard Experience May Hinder His Usual Speed
4 months agoCarson Hocevar has quietly been one of the most consistent drivers on the NASCAR Cup Series circuit as he tends to have an unusually narrow range between his best and worst performances and he also seems to be equally good on any kind of track, which is particularly unusual for a driver of his age in questionable Spire Motorsports equipment. The vast majority of his finishes this year have fallen in an incredibly narrow range between 14th and 22nd. His qualifying has been similar as he has started between 13th and 22nd in ten straight races prior to Indianapolis. However, he had competed at most of those tracks before in other series and he's never raced at the Indianapolis oval before. As a result, his starting position of 30th is one of his worst this season, indicating today's race may be an aberration from his typical consistency.
