Carson Hocevar to Race at Darlington for Legacy Motor Club
1 year agoCarson Hocevar will be making his second-ever NASCAR Cup Series start at Darlington Raceway this weekend, as the 20-year-old will be piloting the No. 42 Chevrolet for Legacy Motor Club in place of the recently-released Noah Gragson. Hocevar made his first Cup Series start at Gateway earlier this season with Spire Motorsports and finished a disappointing 36th despite showing good speed during the race itself. In the first Darlington race this season, Gragson was able to pilot the No. 42 Chevrolet to a 26th-place finish, which was marginally better than his average finish on the season (28.2). After the news about Hocevar broke this morning, the driver stated, "This is a great opportunity to get some seat time in the Cup Series and help out the team at LEGACY M.C. I had the chance earlier this year to race at St. Louis in the Cup Series. I'm looking forward to working with Luke (Lambert) and the No. 42 team, and if anyone knows how to get around Darlington, Erik Jones does, so it will be great to have him as a teammate."
