1 year agoCarson Hocevar will be making his NASCAR Cup Series debut this weekend at Gateway, and he will be piloting the No. 7 Chevrolet for Spire Motorsports. This opportunity came up for Hocevar due to the one-race suspension of Chase Elliott for intentionally wrecking Denny Hamlin at Charlotte on Monday. Corey LaJoie was chosen to replace Elliott for this upcoming race, which opens up the door for Hocevar to make his debut. In 65 career Truck Series starts, Hocevar has an average finish of 14.5 and has collected one victory, at Texas Motor Speedway back in April. This season, LaJoie has piloted the No. 7 Chevrolet to an average finish of 19.1 with a best result of fourth, which came at Atlanta.--Jordan McAbee
