Carson Hocevar Looking To Stop Streak Of Bad Finishes
1 year agoWhen Carson Hocevar took over the No. 42 Chevrolet for Legacy Motor Club in September, he put together four straight top-20 finishes for the team. In three starts since then, Hocevar hasn't been able to crack the top 30. While some of this can be attributed to mechanical issues and/or bad luck, it's still noteworthy that Hocevar is in a bit of a slump right now. But can he turn it around in the season finale at Phoenix this weekend? Hocevar qualified a modest 22nd for this weekend's NASCAR Cup Series Championship Race and he showed pretty good long-run speed during practice on Friday, ranking 14th-fastest when it came to 20-lap average. He will be making his first-ever Cup Series start at Phoenix this weekend but could sneak in a top-20 finish to end the season.
