Carmelo Anthony Comes Up Big For Portland
4 years agoPortland Trail Blazers forward Carmelo Anthony played a big part in Monday's 112-111 victory over Toronto, scoring a season-high 20 points on 6-for-14 shooting. His performance included 13 fourth-quarter points, five rebounds, three assists, two steals, and two blocks. Melo, who shot 4-for-9 from downtown in the game, has averaged 25 minutes per night this season, but he was heavily used on Monday and ended up with season-high 35 minutes. The Blazers played without a proper center for long periods after Jusuf Nurkic (quadriceps) went down injured early on. Enes Kanter, who had 14 points and six rebounds, will be the main beneficiary of the Bosnian's injury, but Anthony is set to eat up some more minutes as well.
