Carlos Santana Stars In Phillies Victory
7 years agoFree agent acquisition Carlos Santana played his first major role in a victory for the Philadelphia Phillies today against the Atlanta Braves. Coming off an extra-inning loss on Thursday. He first drove in his club’s second run of the afternoon with a sacrifice fly in the third inning. After the Braves took the lead in the fourth, the 31-year-old drilled a solo home run to right, tying the game. After Philadelphia once again blew a late lead, the game went into extras for the second day in a row. With a pair of runners on in the 11th, he would drive in the winning run on another sacrifice fly as the Phillies prevailed, 5-4.
