Carlos Santana Launches Go-Ahead Home Run On Saturday
4 months agoMinnesota Twins first baseman Carlos Santana went 2-for-2 with a home run and two walks on Saturday afternoon to power the Twins to a victory. Santana broke a stalemate in the sixth inning with a solo shot which evened up being the game-winning run. This round-tripper snapped an 18-game power outage. The 38-year-old has been struggling at the plate through July as he entered this game with a poor .133/.235/.200 line and just two extra-base hits. However, in June, the switch-hitter held a stellar .337/.396/.565 line. Santana should continue to see an everyday role at first base in the Twins lineup, with occasional starts at DH. He remains a solid corner infield option in deeper AL-only leagues and is worth a look in favorable matchups in DFS.
