Carlos Santana, J.P. Crawford Heading To Seattle
6 years agoThe Seattle Mariners acquired first baseman Carlos Santana and shortstop J.P. Crawford from the Philadelphia Phillies on Monday in exchange for shortstop Jean Segura and relief pitchers Juan Nicasio and James Pazos. Seattle will look like a brand-new ball club in 2019. Santana, who hit .229/.352/.414 with 24 homers and 86 RBI in his lone season in Philly, should be the primary first baseman next season. His on-base skills are his best asset to fantasy owners, but he could be flipped before the start of next season. Crawford was once a top prospect for the Phillies, but his stock has fallen after two disappointing seasons to begin his big league career. He should be locked into the starting gig at shortstop next to Dee Gordon for the 2019 season.
