Carlos Santana Firmly On Trade Block
6 years agoAfter just acquiring him from the Phillies last week, Seattle Mariners first baseman Carlos Santana is on the trade block once again and is unlikely to play for the team in 2019. The Mariners have talked with the Rays, Indians and Rockies about the 32-year-old, who still has two years and $40 million left on his deal. The Marlins have also discussed trading for him. The switch-hitter batted only .229 but had a .352 on-base percentage, 24 home runs and 86 RBI in his only season in Philadelphia. His lack of upside in the power department doesn't make him all that attractive as a high-end corner outfielder, but he carries more appeal in OBP leagues.
