Carlos Santana Drills Leadoff Home Run In Victory
6 years agoThe Philadelphia Phillies held a lead almost immediately after they kicked off their game with the Miami Marlins Tuesday night at Marlins Park. That's because Carlos Santana, who batted leadoff on the day, smacked a home run as the first batter in the game. It was one of two hits for the 32-year-old, as he also reached base on a walk and drove in another run in the fifth with a groundout. Santana has swinging the bat as well as at any point this season lately, hitting .298 over his last 15 games and .345 over his last seven. The Phillies will need his veteran leadership down the stretch as they're in a major fight for a postseason spot in the final month of the season.
