New York Yankees starting pitcher
Carlos Rodon (3-3) had another brilliant outing on Wednesday, tossing seven innings of one-run ball in a 5-1 win over the Cleveland Guardians. He picked up his third win of the season. Rodon's only run allowed was unearned, and he allowed only four hits and two walks while striking out eight. After a dominant outing against the Tampa Bay Rays last time out, Rodon continued to sparkle in this one. He's racked up 17 strikeouts in 13 IP over his last two starts and has only allowed one (unearned) run on six total hits in those starts. He is a must-start in fantasy while pitching like this, and fantasy managers who roster him should be very encouraged by his past two starts. Rodon will look to keep things rolling in his next scheduled start on Tuesday against the Baltimore Orioles.

New York Yankees starting pitcher
Carlos Rodon had his best start of the season on Friday, shutting out the Tampa Bay Rays for six innings in a 1-0 win. Rodon was very sharp in this one, allowing just two hits while striking out nine. Although it was mostly good for the lefty, he did walk four and had now walked 16 in just 29 innings so far this year. That's not ideal, but if he's limiting hits and striking batters out like in this one, it might not matter. All in all, it was a strong bounce-back effort for Rodon, and fantasy managers should feel better about the 32-year-old after this one.

Carlos Rodon (forearm) underwent X-rays, which thankfully came back negative, after taking a line 115.5 mph line drive off his right forearm off the bat of second baseman
Ketel Marte in Wednesday's loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks in the Bronx. Despite that and the fact that the 32-year-old's fastball velocity was noticeably down on a cold night at Yankee Stadium, Rodon was able to retire the last 10 batters he faced. He ultimately allowed four earned runs on three hits while walking four and striking out five over six innings on 96 pitches. Rodon didn't look nearly as dominant as he did on Opening Day last Thursday against the Brewers when he struck out seven and gave up just one run in 5 1/3 innings, but the biggest takeaway from Wednesday is that he should be fine physically going into his third start of 2025.

New York Yankees starting pitcher
Carlos Rodon pitched 5 1/3 innings on Thursday, allowing one earned run on four hits and two walks while striking out seven on the way to picking up his first win of the season in the 4-2 Opening Day victory over the Brewers. The southpaw, who had a forgettable 2023 season, is coming off a bounce-back campaign in 2024 in which he posted a 3.96 ERA (3.78 SIERA), 1.22 WHIP, and an 18.8 percent K-BB% with a 16-9 record. The 32-year-old is just a few seasons removed from 2021 and 2022, when he pitched well enough to earn Cy Young votes, so perhaps at full health, he can make some modest improvements over last season's ERA and WHIP numbers. The two-time All-Star lines up with the Diamondbacks at home next week for his next start.
