Carlos Rodon Decent In 2018 Debut
6 years agoChicago White Sox starter Carlos Rodon allowed four runs (two earned) in five innings in his 2018 debut Saturday against the Boston Red Sox. Rodon wasn't efficient, surrendering six hits and walking two. His biggest mistakes were serving up home runs to outfielders Jackie Bradley Jr. and J.D. Martinez. Rodon struck out seven batters and threw 97 pitches in the outing. The start was Rodon's first since undergoing shoulder surgery last September. A career 9.2 K/9 pitcher, the former top prospect is a worthwhile speculative add in all fantasy leagues. Across four rehab starts, he posted a 14.3 K/9. Rodon holds a solid 3.95 career ERA and if he keeps the walks down (1.41 WHIP), the risk/reward is attractive.
