4 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Carlos Martinez got the start in Tuesday's Grapefruit League game against the New York Mets and threw three scoreless innings. He allowed two hits and two walks while striking out three. Martinez tossed 53 pitches, 33 for strikes. It was a strong outing after he'd been struggling all spring, with his ERA dropping to 11.57 after the three scoreless innings. There's not much concern at this point, especially if he can continue with today's kind of success. Martinez could provide mixed league value this season as long as he can stay healthy.--David A Marcillo - RotoBaller
