5 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals closer Carlos Martinez took a loss on Tuesday, tossing the ninth inning of a tie game and allowing two runs on two hits and a walk. The loss dropped his record to 2-1 and raised his ERA to 2.91, but the fact that he was used in the ninth inning of a tie game at home gave more confirmation that the team is viewing him as a traditional closer.
