Carlos Gomez Homers For Rays Lone Run Sunday Versus Toronto
7 years agoTampa Bay Rays outfielder Carlos Gomez supplied the only offense for the Rays Sunday versus the Blue Jays. His eighth-inning HR tied the game at 1-1 before Colome lost it in the ninth. It was his fifth homer of the season. Gomez was a superstar back in 2013 & 2014. In those two seasons, he combined for 47 home runs and 74 steals with a .284 average in both seasons. He has since struggled and not played more than 118 games in any of the past three seasons while playing for three teams. Gomez still has some upside to become a relevant as he is on pace for 25 HR and 15 steals but needs to raise his batting average.
