Carlos Gomez Goes Deep Versus Chicago Tuesday
7 years agoTampa Bay Rays outfielder Carlos Gomez went deep versus the White Sox Tuesday. He went 2-for-5, including a solo home run in the 6-5 victory. It was his second HR of the season. He has also raised his batting average by nearly 50 points in the last few days to reach .220. He has been batting in favorable spots of the batting order more often than not so far in 2018. Gomez was a superstar back in 2013 and 2014. In those two seasons, he combined for 47 home runs and 74 steals with a .284 average in both seasons. He has since struggled and has not played more than 118 games in any of the past three seasons while playing for three teams. He should be owned in most leagues that start five outfielders or have 12 or more teams with more than four bench spots.
