Carlos Gomez Drives In A Run Sunday
7 years agoTampa Bay Rays outfielder Carlos Gomez drove in a run Sunday versus Boston. He went 2-for-5 and his double gave the Rays a 2-1 lead. They would extend the lead to 7-2 after seven innings before losing 8-7. He has struggled so far with 12 strikeouts and a .161 batting average. However, he has been batting in favorable spots of the batting order more often than not so far in 2018. Gomez was a superstar back in 2013 and 2014. In those two seasons, he combined for 47 home runs and 74 steals with a .284 average in both seasons. He has since struggled and has not played more than 118 games in any of the past three seasons while playing for three teams. He should be owned in most leagues that start five outfielders or have 12 or more teams with more than four bench spots.
