Carlos Estevez Earns First Save
8 months agoLos Angeles Angels relief pitcher Carlos Estevez picked up his first save of the season in a 4-1 win over the Baltimore Orioles. Estevez had zeroes across the board in his inning of work, as he didn't allow a baserunner and didn't strike anyone out either. After a rough second half of 2023, there were some questions about Estevez's status as Angels closer. Fortunately for him, the newly acquired Robert Stephenson got injured late in Spring Training, leaving Estevez as the only real option to close out games. If he can continue to succeed he should maintain the role even when Stephenson returns, but if he falters the Angels' might be quick to make a change.
