Carlos Correa Officially Placed On 10-Day Injured List
3 years agoThe Minnesota Twins placed shortstop Carlos Correa (finger) on the 10-day injured list on Tuesday. This move was expected as Correa still needs some time to recover from fouling a ball off his right hand on May 5. While he didn't break any bones, his right middle finger is still bruised and he needs additional time to recover. The move to the injured list is retroactive to May 6. The team called up outfielder Mark Contreras to take Correa's roster spot, but the player who benefits most from Correa's absence is highly-touted prospect Royce Lewis, who will continue to serve as the team's primary shortstop while Correa is out.
