Carlos Correa Leaves Sunday’s Game Early After HBP
4 months agoMinnesota Twins shortstop Carlos Correa (hand) left Sunday's game early after being hit by a pitch in his right hand, according to Julia Morales of the Space City Home Network. The former platinum glove winner left the game in the first inning after taking a fastball from Houston right-hander Spencer Arrighetti. Correa was replaced by Kyle Farmer. While the severity of the injury is still unknown, the 29-year-old will likely go for X-rays. Correa entered Sunday with a nine-game hitting streak and an overall .305/.376/.508 slash line through 71 games this season. If he were to miss any extended period of time, Brooks Lee, Kyle Farmer, or Willi Castro are all strong candidates to see the majority of opportunities at shortstop.
