Byron Buxton (head) are both out of the lineup for Friday's series opener against the Milwaukee Brewers after they collided chasing a pop-up in Thursday's win over the Baltimore Orioles. Although neither player has been put on the injured list, they are both in the league's concussion protocol, and it's unknown if they'll be available to play all weekend.
Brooks Lee is starting at short and batting third, while
DaShawn Keirsey Jr. is in center field and hitting eighth against Brewers right-hander
Chad Patrick. Fantasy managers should prepare for the potential of both Correa and Buxton landing on the seven-day concussion list if they are unable to return in Milwaukee this weekend. Both Lee and Keirsey will be everyday players for Minnesota until Correa and Buxton are able to return.

Carlos Correa (head) is in the league's concussion protocol after a scary third-inning collision with teammate
Byron Buxton in Thursday's series finale against the Baltimore Orioles at Camden Yards. Correa backpedaled into shallow center field before Buxton slammed into the back of him and jarred his head and neck drastically. The 30-year-old veteran appeared to absorb the worst of the impact, although Buxton was also removed from the game. Correa went 0-for-1 in the game before
Brooks Lee shifted from second base to shortstop to replace him. It's a pretty good bet that Correa will be out for Friday's series opener against the Milwaukee Brewers, and he could be headed for the seven-day concussion list. Lee, a former first-round pick, figures to see most of the starts at the 6 for however long Correa is out.

Carlos Correa is getting a day of rest for Sunday's series finale against the visiting San Francisco Giants at Target Field.
Brooks Lee will make the start at shortstop and will hit cleanup against Giants right-hander
Landen Roupp. Correa will be getting his first day off since April 16. In 21 games since then, he has gone 23-for-82 (.280) with two home runs, three doubles, nine RBI and eight runs scored in 86 plate appearances. It's been nice to see from the 30-year-old Puerto Rican veteran after a slow start to the year, but he's still slashing only .231/.270/.329 with an ugly .598 OPS, two homers, 13 RBI and 13 runs scored in 2025. Lee, the former eighth overall pick in 2022 out of Cal Poly, has been mediocre at the plate so far this year with a .232 average (19-for-82), two homers and seven RBI. The 24-year-old switch-hitter has never faced Petty.

Carlos Correa went 3-for-5 with a home run and three RBI in his team's 9-1 win over the Baltimore Orioles. His other two hits were singles. The 30-year-old ripped his second homer of the season in the third inning -- a two-run shot -- off of Orioles pitcher
Cade Povich to put Minnesota up by five. It left the bat at 109 MPH and traveled a staggering 458 feet. Correa isn't enjoying the same batting average success in 2025 as he did a season ago, when he hit .310, but he's underperforming his .261 xBA (.233). Tuesday marked back-to-back multi-hit efforts for the former first-overall pick, and he's done so three times in his last five appearances.
