Carlos Carrasco Solid In No-Decision
3 years agoNew York Mets starting pitcher Carlos Carrasco went 5 2/3 very strong innings pitched in the Mets' 4-2 loss to the Washington Nationals on Sunday. Carrasco did not factor into the decision, allowing only one run on two hits while striking out five batters. After allowing a first inning home run, he settled in and retired the final 15 batters he faced. In what was his best start as a Met, Carrasco had great control and mixed in a number of offspeed pitches to keep the Nationals off-balance all day. Coming off an injury-plagued 2021 season, his first in New York, in which he posted a 6.04 ERA and a 5.22 FIP in 53 2/3 IP, Sunday's outing was a welcomed sight for Mets fans and fantasy managers who took a late-round flier on Carrasco. He is next scheduled to take on the Diamondbacks at home next Saturday in a great matchup.
