Carlos Carrasco Exits Saturday’s Start With Thumb Injury
3 years agoNew York Mets pitcher Carlos Carrasco (thumb) was removed from Saturday's 5-3 loss against the Philadelphia Phillies early with a thumb issue. He hurt his thumb after fouling off a pitch during his second at-bat. The Mets right-hander was removed after 82 pitches. Carrasco allowed two runs on five hits and two walks while striking out five over six innings before exiting. He was tagged with his third loss of the season. Carrasco was hurt by the long ball and surrendered solo shots to Phillies infielder Jean Segura. The severity of the 34-year-old's thumb issue is unknown at this time, and Carrasco is considered day-to-day. Stay tuned.
