Carl Edwards Jr. Notches Second Save
2 years agoWashington Nationals pitcher Carl Edwards Jr. allowed one hit while striking out one batter over a scoreless inning to earn the save during Saturday's 4-3 win over the San Diego Padres. He entered the game in the ninth inning to protect a one-run lead and retired three of four batters he faced to secure his second save of the season. The 30-year-old has now notched two saves over his last three appearances. He owns a 3.24 ERA, 1.22 WHIP, and a 40:20 K: BB across 41 2/3 innings in 2022. Fantasy managers searching for saves should look to add Edwards as he has been used as Washington's primary closer over the last few games.
