Cardinals Discussing Trade For Paul Goldschmidt
Paul Goldschmidt, according to a source. Goldy is under contract for one more season before he becomes a free agent, and the D-backs would be looking at a mini rebuild if they were to trade him away this winter. The slugger had a rough first half in 2018 but rebounded in the second half to finish with a .290/.389/.533 slash line, 33 home runs, 83 RBI, 95 runs scored and seven steals in 158 games. Goldschmidt is as durable and productive as they come. He has played in at least 155 games each of the past four seasons and has 30 homers or more in four of the last six years.
