7 years agoThe St. Louis Cardinals called up relief pitcher Mike Mayers from Triple-A Memphis. Mayers was just sent down a couple of days ago but was eligible to be recalled because St. Louis had to place Sam Tuivailala (knee) on the disabled list. Mayers made the team out of Spring Training and should continue to pitch in middle relief. He has nice long-term upside, but is unlikely to see meaningful innings this season.--David A Marcillo - RotoBaller
